New website for The Hang!
Will Dearborn, photographer extraordinaire, took these shots the last time we were in the studio recording a live acoustic record:

Wasn’t there when Will was taking pics! But he looks a lot like this:

Michelle Blanchard, lead singer of Life Down Here, sang on our record today on a new tune called Hollywood Fairytale. Now, here she is singing the ever living shit out of one of my favorite Adam Sandler songs, from The Wedding Singer, “Somebody Kill Me.”
There are a few characters out there who fall right in line with our music, and Kenny Powers is one of them. This has got to be one of the greatest ads, if not the greatest ad I’ve ever seen. Danny McBride continues to be a source of ridiculously entertaining…entertainment. Here you go:
Made by Kevin Peterson, this is a special thank you to everyone who helped make the video for The Piano Song (Feelings).
KaBLAMO! We shot this in Harvelle’s in Santa Monica, CA. Hope you like it!

Step One: Innate Chrome Paint
I really wanted to chrome my ’93 American Strat, but couldn’t find any examples of what I wanted. You have the Muse chrome guitar, which is cool, but isn’t really chrome, it’s more like a smokey mirror. Then you have the fully “chromed” guitars, where someone sprays or even dips the full guitar, fretboard and all, and it’s like a mirror, but still looks like paint instead of the chrome bumper of a ’58 Chevy. And then you have the fact that any of these treatments are difficult and expensive. So, a rocky start. After some serious time nerdin’ it up on the internet, I found the right paint and process at Innate (online, since I’m in LA, and they’re based in Elkhorn, Nebraska). Innate just started making a chrome paint which has since been applied to airplanes, motorcycles, and a sculpture. Of a naked dude. You can’t win ‘em all. Click Innate to go to their website. I recommend speaking with Nate, who helped me out.
Step Two: Pat Wilkins Application
The guys at TruTone Music in Santa Monica, where I get set-ups and amps fixed and all that, referred me to Pat Wilkins up in Van Nuys, CA. Pat is one of the best, and he’s one of the nicest guys out there. He agreed to experiment on my Strat with this new chrome paint, even speaking with the guys at Innate to optimize the experiment. Pat had to sand the guitar, paint it black, polish it, apply several coats of the Innate chrome paint, then apply two coats of clear coat over that. It’s a unique process because the paint is actually supposed to go on a polished surface instead of a primed one.

Step Three: Try Not to Make Out with My Own Guitar in Front of Other People
Before I could pick it up, ESP came by Pat’s shop to check it out, and they liked it so much that they’re going to make two of them for James Hetfield. Of Metallica. Just to reiterate, ESP is going to use this for James Hetfield of Metallica.

I haven’t been able to find any other chrome guitar that looks like this, especially with the blond neck and the original white hardware. If you have any questions about it, feel free to email me at trey@treygreenmusic.com. Sorry these aren’t the sharpest pics in the world, but I can’t put this thing down for long right now.
I love movies, I love the Foo Fighters…I haven’t even seen this thing yet and I want to watch it again.
